--2) Soft Resetting and Battle video
---2.1) New Game
To avoid the problem of the dry battery on the Pokmon generation in Ruby / Saphire, Game Freak modified this algorithm on Pokmon Emerald.
In Emerald, every time the game starts (or after every reset), the value used for generating the Pokmon is always 0 (0x00000000).
It means that in Emerald, Pokmon are always generated as in RS with a dry battery (except that the starting value is different).

---2.2) Fleeing
As I said in the RS file, Soft resets have to be avoided, except for the Starters with a particular method (making a new game every 70-100 SRs).

But, legendary Pokmon can now be rebattled, if they weren't caught or KO.
Which leaves starters, Kecleon, fosiles, Beldum, Morpheo and Sudowoodo. (there are 2g Starters if Hoenn Pokedex is completed)

---2.3) Defeats
One can also lose the battle versus a fix Pokmon to rebattle it.
Because Sudowoodo and Kecleon cannot be fled, this is a good method.

Team :
Any Pokmon with Selfdestruct will do the trick (not killing the wild Pokmon in the process saves time)(Smeargle is a good choice).

---2.4) Battle Videos

Pretty reliable method to Reset, or to just make normal hunts.

When a Battle Video is made, the game saves the actions of the player, its team, but also the frame when the battle started, because luck also depends on frames.
When hunting frequently on the same Emerald file, the idea of re-encountering the same Pokmon can come up, because the frames generated after the reset will always be the same.

So, by making a battle video in a late frame (after 5-10h for example), it is possible to "restart" hunting from this frame by resetting, and watching the video (watching the start of the battle is enough).

This is useful for hunting sessions, and cumulable (remaking a battle video 5h after having watched the first one advances frames further).
But, it can replaces the "New game" condition for SRs.
Instead of creating a new game file, just remake a Battle video, and every reset, watch it.
Really useful for Morpheo, Kecleon, Sudowoodo, Fosiles, Beldum, and 2g Starters

--3) Eggs

Everstone allows nature transmission.
Magma Armor and Flame Body halves the number of steps needed to hatch an egg.
The Shinyness of the egg is determined when the Daycare man stands forward.
Saving near him in this state will ensure that the first egg taken after each SR won't be Shiny if he wasn't the first time it was hatched.

--4) Safari Zone
Emerald Safari Zone follows the same mechanics of RS Safari Zone.(see this file for more details)

Safari Catch Rate = Catch Rate/255*20 (go from 0 to 20, with a minima of 3)

Safari Flee Rate = Value from 0 to 20 (0=0%, 20=100%, each battle starts with a rate of 3=15%)

Going Near :
Number of tries / Catch Rate / Flee Rate
1 / +3 / +4
2 / +2 / +4
3 and more / +1 / +4

Throwing Pokbloc :
-The Pokmon is enthralled
Number of tries / Catch Rate / Flee Rate
1 / +0 / -5
2 / +0 / -3
3 and more / +0 / -2

-The Pokmon is curious
Number of tries / Catch Rate / Flee Rate
1 / +0 / -3
2 / +0 / -2
3 and more / +0 / -1

-The Pokmon ignores the Pokblock
No change

The best method is to throw a single Pokblock during the first turn, and try catching the Pokmon.

If a Pokblock feeder is used, during 100 steps, and within a 5 step range away from it, 80% of the wild Pokmon will be enthralled by the Pokblock put in the feeder.
In total, with a single-flavoured Pokblock, % of the Wild Pokmon won't ignore the Pokblock.
Synchronize can also be used to increase the % of Pokemon enthralled by the Pokblock flavour (if the Synchronizer has a good nature).

--5) Infinite battle
In 1st,2nd and 3rd gen, the recoil damage caused by Struggle depends on the damages dealt by the Pokmon.

The easiest option to set an infinite battle is Trick + Leftovers.
You can add .., Growl, or Battle items to decrease damages, and also a Status, but the Shiny won't be able to kill itself.
So prepare lots of Balls and healing items, and once prepared, you won't be able to fail a Shiny anymore (except for Safari Zone Pokemon).

Ingrain, Suction Cups, Stick Hold deals with Roar or Whirlwind.
Damp deals with Selfdestruct and Explosion.
Taunt deals with Teleport. (duration of 2 turns in 3rd gen)
Shedinja / Ghost type Pokmon deals with recoil damaging moves.
Skill Swap + Tempo Perso deals with Outrage effect (for Rayquaza especially).

Useful Pokmon : Kadabra (Lv 43 for Trick) + Leftovers (hidden on the ferry unlocked after beating the E-4)
